I have a couple of children-who-shall-not-be-named who refuse to keep their coats on.
Yes I know the temperatures have been in the single and negative digits.
They don’t care.
When I can manage to wrestle their coats on, they unzip them, take them off and throw them to the floor the second I turn around.
Exasperating! They instantly run away from me like it’s a game and I have to chase them down.
Of course it’s when we’re in a hurry to leave the house so suddenly the game isn’t very fun for me. But they’re having a blast.
Enter the safety-pin. A large one.
(sorry – that’s a super blurry picture)
Just stick that little sucker in the zipper like a zipper pull. Zip that baby up and then safety-pin it to the coat.
If you don’t want to safety pin the outside of the coat, there’s usually a flap of fabric on the inside of the zipper that you can pin as well.
Problem solved. At least until they figure out how to open a safety-pin.
